GRADING SYSTEM

   
     Juan Sumulong Elementary School uses the DepEd Standard Grading System with the following performance based measures: 

1. Periodical Test 

2. Summative Tests 

3. Projects related to the subjects such as: Writing/ Reading Exercises for English & Filipino Experimentation /Field Study/ Calculation for Science & Math Cooking/Gardening/ shop works for EPP field day/ choir/ sports activities for MSEP 

4. Recitation 

5. Behavior/ Values exhibited by pupils

 

6. Assignment 

 

Rules and Regulations 

1. All Students should follow the school handbook. 
2. Boyfriend/ Girlfriend Relationships (Particularly Intermediate Pupils). The school strongly adheres to biblical and cultural guidelines towards involving oneself in a relationship. 
3. Library Rules must strictly be followed. 
4. Telephone Rules. 6:00 am to 6:00 pm only for official use and emergency purposes only. 
5. Dress Code for GPTA, School Teaching and Non-teaching personnels is mandated to be clean and modest but for pupils uniform is not compulsory as mandated by Deped Order, however pupils are encourage to have a proper attire suited for formal school.


THE HANDBOOK 

      The following points have been approved by the School Governing Council (SGC) of Juan Sumulong Elementary School as the rules and regulations to be compiled with by all pupils / teachers of the school.
     A. Policy Concerning Enrollment 
         1. Enrollment is free.
         2. Voluntary Contributions however is encouraged. The following are 
        approved by the DepEd and supported by a Republic Act. 
             a. Journalism - P 50.00 (a tool for the awareness of the school
             programs, projects and activities)
             b. BSP/GSP - P 55.00 (a tool for students development of social skills
             and becoming a worthy citizen.) 
             c. GPTA Membership - P 25.00 (payment for projects and 
            janitorial/guard/clerical assistance to pupils and parents) 
             d. Red Cross - P 35.00
           (insurance regrading accident/ hospitalization/ death)
    B. Policy Regarding Financial Aid 
     GPTA will issue the said assistance to whatever incident happened in school or within its members within the school year likewise with BSP/ GSP/ RC Membership. 
    C. Policy Concerning Dropping Classes 
    1. Dropping classes is discouraged to attain Education For All (EFA) target which aims that all children be in school. 
    2. Modified In-School off-School Approach or MIMOSA program could be given to pupils who have some difficulties in going to school regularly as assessed by the class adviser. 
    3. Teachers shall not drop any pupils without prior coordination with the parent, particularly in the issuance of cards. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend meetings and follow up on their children's school performance. 
   D. Policy Regarding Complaints 
      1. For complaints or concerns on any given situation in the homeroom, it is advised that parents seek first either the concerned teacher/ adviser or the school guidance counselor for first hand solution.
        2. If parents/ parties were not able to arrive at a satisfactory settlement during the first level, the teacher/ adviser will have to coordinate with the school grievance committee to settle any concern at hand. 
        3. If efforts of settlement on the second level still proved to be futile, matters of concern shall be forwarded to the District/ Division/ Regional or National Level Grievance Committee accordingly. 
    E. Policy Regarding Pupils' Class Attendance and Activities 
       Morning Classes starts at 6:00 AM to 12:00 NN
       Afternoon Classes starts at 12:00 NN to 6:00 PM 
 Pupils and Parents are hereby reminded of the following: 
       A. Pupils are encouraged on time. (20 minutes maximum before/after the start of classes) 
     B. Parents/class visitors are not allowed to enter the school premises when class are on-going 
    C. No disruption of classes (Visitation Schedule) AM Session Teachers - 1:00-3:00 PM PM Session Teachers - 9:00-12:00 NN 
     D. Extra Curricular activities of pupils should be noted by the adviser/ teacher advising pupils to be back for an activity (Parents/Teachers Permit)

PUPILS DISCIPLINARY PROCESS 


Violation of rules are dealt as follows:
 
1. Verbal Warning. 
2. Written Warning
3. Student/Faculty Counselling 
4. Disciplinary Probation 
5. Suspension 


Disciplinary Points 

     Actions shall be taken as follows for violation

 8 points - written warning 
10 points - counselling 
12 points - disciplinary probation 
16 points - suspension 


 Note: A summary of disciplinary action will be recorded on his/her anecdotal records attached in his/her permanent record. 

 Level One -2 points -first offense/ 4 points for subsequent offense

 Level Two -4 points-first offense/ 6 points for subsequent offense 

Level Three-8 points-first offense/10 points for subsequent offense
